Mat Ilic, co-founded educational technology company Greenworkx in 2022. In the record-breaking sweltering heat of that summer, he saw with new clarity that we were in the midst of a green skills emergency…and that he could do something about it.
With a background in politics and charity, Mat was already impact-focused; with the founding of Greenworkx, his aim became more specific: ‘ to make the leap to a carbon-free economy, build energy system resilience, drive growth and productivity, and ultimately avoid catastrophic climate breakdown’.
The ambition is huge, and four years on, the mechanisms are in place and working: training tradespeople and upskilling whole workforces of course, but also providing tools to track impact, optimise efficiency, enhance productivity.
