"Our primary mission is clearly to take a preventive approach to health by facilitating access to sports,” explains Jennifer Sitruk. “So the goal is mainly to reach those who weren't exercising before, because they are the real challenge.”
40% of the people who signed up on the app reported not engaging in any sports activities before Egym Wellpass. This achievement was made possible by removing significant barriers to accessing sports, such as financial constraints and motivation.
"We thought that the workplace was the key environment to start and motivate people to exercise,” explains Jennifer Sitruk. Thus, Egym Wellpass came up with the idea of involving companies.
Similar to a meal voucher, the employer funds part of the employee's sports subscription, an unlimited fitness membership that allows them to go to any gym in France, regardless of the brand, close to their home, workplace, or while traveling, or access to other activities like football, climbing, or yoga, if they prefer.
“The goal is for everyone to find the sport that suits them, whether collective or individual, with music or without music, because that's also the challenge of getting into sports.”
From the company's perspective, the solution also offers several advantages. It contributes to attracting and retaining talent. “Today, it's essential for the development of a company. Candidates are no longer just looking for a salary but also for well-being, a work-life balance, and consideration of health at work,” explains Jennifer Sitruk.
Additionally, there is an impact on productivity. “Sports help reduce absenteeism and increase productivity. So we have employees who feel better and are happy to be there. It also helps with cohesion. Because exercising with colleagues brings together people who might not have chatted before. So it makes the work environment a bit nicer.”
In general, we spend a lot of time at work, and companies have a role to play since sedentary behavior is becoming a key issue, and companies are partly responsible for it. “So today, we want to find solutions to address sedentary issues. And it's true that we are in a caring approach where the company takes care of its employees. We hear this more and more from our clients,” concludes Jennifer Sitruk.
