La France s’engage has supported and accompanied around 204 structures in the social and solidarity economy since its creation 10 years ago. These structures can benefit from what they lack the most: time, significant funding – an average of 250,000 euros over 3 years – and support in skills and expertise on topics they are not familiar with because it is not their profession, such as communication, legal aspects, strategy, or human resources.
La France s’engage is also a label, a recognition that allows these structures to multiply partnerships, which will have a real leverage effect with other actors, both private and public.
It is the collaboration of several actors, the State as well as companies, to support and promote the engagement of French citizens in social innovation, in areas such as education, housing, health, and access to leisure...
“The essential criterion,” explains Damien Baldin, “is that these structures have innovative projects, with a strong social impact and the capacity for scaling up. After demonstrating the success of a social action at the scale of a municipality, a neighborhood, or a department, there must be a desire and capacity to deploy their activities in other territories. Everything that contributes to ensuring social progress, to improving the daily lives of those who need it most.”
