A woman makes an average of 7 trips back and forth before permanently leaving her marital home. So when the moment is right, she may not even realize it. She usually leaves with just the bare essentials.
That’s why Une voix pour elles offers logistical support in the form of moving services to retrieve their personal belongings and those of their children, so these women do not have to return to the marital home and risk staying there.
These moves are carried out in collaboration with other associations that support women victims of domestic violence.
Sometimes, when it is not possible to retrieve belongings, the association provides personalized kits for hygiene, childcare, clothing, and food. They also find furniture and appliances for them.
“We identified a missing link in the support for women, which did not exist before 2020, so we decided to create it,” says Loëtitia Mas.
A material reclamation that allows women to take back control of their lives. "Women victims of domestic violence often feel they are incapable of anything without their partner or husband. They realize that they are indeed capable. This gives them a new momentum,” emphasizes the founder of Une voix pour elles.
“Supporting the victim, so that the perpetrator sees that she is being accompanied and supported, also allows the shame to shift. It sends a strong signal,” concludes Loëtitia Mas.
