In France, the figures reflect an alarming situation: two million elderly people are facing difficult circumstances, seven million French people of all ages are isolated, and 11 million caregivers are involved daily, often at great personal sacrifice. One in three French people faces mobility challenges, while the average distance between children and their elderly parents is 260 km. Since the health crisis, associations have also struggled to recruit new volunteers.
“Yet, in the face of this difficult reality, solutions exist,” asserts Anne Guénand with conviction. “Citizens are ready to take action.”
Supported in particular by La France s’engage, the solution Bip Pop is aimed at communities eager to mobilize their residents around local solidarities, particularly to combat the isolation of the elderly and assist vulnerable individuals with their mobility. Django Mesh provides the engineering and technical tools necessary for effective volunteer coordination.
The system is based on great flexibility: each citizen chooses the missions they wish to undertake, according to their availability and desires, without the constraint of weekly recurrence.
