“The goal of Les Ecoruches is to change the world,” explains Julien Perez. “So we need to make people change. And for that, they need to have awakenings. The more people who change, the greater the transition effect and movement will be. And businesses will allow us to reach many more people at once.”
This is how Les Ecoruches can connect with employees, who in turn can share these values internally within the company, as well as with their personal networks, thus impacting as many people as possible.
“In practical terms, we will create the strongest possible link between the company, the employees, and the bees. So we will install beehives on-site and then we will create connections,” explains Julien Perez.
Once the hive is installed, it will require regular visits from the beekeeper, about 10 to 15 times a year. This is an opportunity to involve the teams, to have them put on special suits and visit the bees. It’s also a chance for workshops and conferences about bee life and biodiversity.
“We need to save biodiversity because it is a source of learning,” emphasizes Julien Perez. “The idea behind Les Ecoruches is to put humans back in the position of students of Nature. The first thing when you are a student and want to learn something is observation. So we will observe what happens in the hive, the communication, the democracy, the collective intelligence.”
“What are we going to learn from this? What can we take away for ourselves in our own processes, in our own company, in terms of communication, collective performance, role distribution, career development? Everything is calculated in a hive, and there are many things we can draw inspiration from.”
And companies also gain a unifying opportunity. Often, it is the employees who champion and promote these projects internally. “Biodiversity, for us, is a source of learning, it’s an opportunity to evolve, to grow. And that’s why we need to preserve it,” concludes Julien Perez.
