Founded in 2014, 1% for the Planet France now brings together nearly 900 companies, representing 14 million euros in annual philanthropy. The aim is to make environmental patronage simpler through a selection of approved associations and monitoring of companies' commitments. "We will check that this promise is kept," emphasizes Isabelle Susini.
While only 7% of philanthropy is dedicated to the environment, the association aims to accelerate funding for ecological transition.
Companies join the movement for various reasons, sometimes from their inception, sometimes later. While the 1% logo provides visibility, the essential goal remains to "collectively mobilize to fund the environmental cause that is so poorly supported," explains Isabelle Susini.
Facilitating donations primarily allows associations to fully dedicate themselves to their mission. Today, they sometimes spend up to 40% of their time seeking funding. The ambition of 1% for the Planet is therefore to give them back this precious time.
"With our operating model, we try to accelerate this environmental philanthropy, to facilitate the flow of funds from the donor to the recipient, so they spend less time searching for funds. Thus, this acceleration of environmental philanthropy aims solely to make all associations more effective," concludes Isabelle Susini.
