Climate House is primarily a place, the House, where roommates, not coworkers, coexist. "We call them roommates because they chose us, and we chose them,” explains Maïka Nuti. The House features event spaces that organizations can rent.
Next, there is the Workshop, “which is a bit of the driving force behind transformation,” taking place on several levels. The first is individual, meaning changing oneself, learning, and educating on transition issues, what we call programming. To achieve this, Climate House organizes events, over 600 to date since its inception nearly a year ago.
The second level focuses on questions related to transforming one's organization. Organizations come to gather information to accelerate their transition. “We are not a consulting firm; we are more of a trusted facilitator,” Maïka Nuti clarifies. “This is how we reach the Holy Grail, level 3, which is the implementation and acceleration of the transition, under one unique condition: creating cooperations and alliances. What is truly at the heart of what we do is the Community.”
The Community today consists of over 600 people, including 80 co-founders, 40 men and 40 women “with a very nice ethnic, social, and professional representation”; 400 roommates in fixed or nomadic positions, and members, individuals or organizations, who contribute to the Workshop and this collective dynamic.
Not to forget the staff of Climate House, who work daily to care for this Community and foster connections. "Our challenge is to demonstrate that when we are many around a subject, we can move mountains,” Maïka Nuti enthusiastically states. “The collective is very strong. People need to share a common culture to take action. Our job is really to gather forces to empower action.”
"The word that comes to me is really trust,” concludes Maïka Nuti. “How do we regain trust in ourselves, trust in humanity, how do we trust the living to show us what we need to see? It’s important to detach from rationality and perhaps to put instinct back at the center.”
