The Convention des Entreprises pour le Climat (CEC) is an association created by Eric Duverger and Yannick Servant to engage businesses
Launched in response to the climate emergency, this convention aims to mobilize the private sector to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy.
Participating companies commit to implementing concrete and ambitious actions to reduce their carbon footprint, promote energy efficiency, and adopt sustainable business practices, all while proving that this does not affect their productivity or profitability.
“What we propose and design is a journey, a process that equips [companies] step by step.” explains Yannick Servant. To achieve this, the CEC is supported by recognized environmental experts to “set the framework” for what organizations can and/or should improve or modify.
Then, with the help of a panel of other experts, they assist companies in asking the right questions: “Today, what we do is mostly extractive (...) what would an economy look like that, instead of destroying and extracting, regenerates?”
Moreover, the CEC offers a collaborative platform where companies share best practices, exchange innovative ideas, and collaborate to tackle climate challenges. Since its inception in 2020, the CEC has managed to convince between “700 and 800 companies to date, which when combined represent 200 billion in cumulative revenue.”
Thus, by bringing together key players from the private sector, the CEC today acts as a catalyst to accelerate the implementation of innovative and sustainable climate solutions, constituting a crucial initiative that unites the strengths of the private sector to play a significant role in the transition to a more sustainable and climate-resilient future.
