Since its inception in 2001, the Forum pour l'Investissement Responsable has established itself as a key player in promoting sustainable finance. It plays a crucial role in the transition towards a more environmentally friendly and socially equitable economy. The approach? Integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into investment decisions, thereby fostering long-term sustainable development.
The Forum brings together all stakeholders in socially responsible investment (SRI): investors, asset management companies, financial intermediaries, rating agencies, investor advisors, industry organizations, unions, NGOs, associations, as well as qualified individuals: lawyers, journalists, academics…
They act, for example, through collaborative platforms among investors that have been established, promoting the sharing of best practices. These initiatives have mobilized key players in the financial sector and strengthened commitment to financial sustainability: “It seems essential to us that large companies today publish their accounts and clearly state their climate strategy and how they intend to address the challenges of global warming,” explains Grégoire Cousté, General Delegate of the FIR.
Grégoire Cousté emphasizes the responsibility of investors and financial institutions, thereby reinforcing public trust in the financial sector by promoting a culture of responsible investment.
