Founded 15 years ago by social entrepreneur Margarita Albors, Social Nest adopts a business approach to the sector, identifying market needs to devise new transformative actions. Additionally, in the past year, they have focused on issues within the rural sector.
“We are designing several projects, mobilizing economic actors, or transforming the way large corporations work with the rural sector. The most specific issue is the social aspect of the countryside, and what we want is a social transformation so that the people who work in it have better living conditions,” explains the CEO of Social Nest, Marta del Castillo.
Currently, the foundation is working on the third edition of The Gap in Between, which will take place on October 21 in Valencia, a platform to connect people and organizations committed to building a more resilient economy against the challenges of global warming. The event is also open to citizens and more traditional entrepreneurs “so they know that innovation and entrepreneurship are tools they can use to propel themselves”, says Del Castillo.
