"In the early days of the Internet, everyone did as they pleased. It was up to the platforms to organize themselves to control the content sent by users," explains Alexandre Sossou.
With the evolution of European regulations and the rise of problematic content, such as harassment, fake news, child exploitation content, and calls for hate, platforms must now strengthen their control measures.
However, most of the time, this mission is entrusted to generalist artificial intelligences, which are not always adequately suited to the specific challenges of moderation.
Moderering develops specialized AI agents that can be tailored to various issues encountered, particularly those related to the protection of minors, combating harassment, and detecting illegal content.
The company is particularly focused on detecting dangerous behaviors, such as when adults attempt to contact minors, as well as more subtle content that sometimes eludes traditional systems.
"What makes the big difference is that we have based our technology from the beginning on European and French laws," explains Alexandre Sossou. This approach could enable Europe to develop its own solutions in response to international tech giants.
The next step for Moderering: to commercialize its AI agents and launch a social network fully moderated by its own technologies by summer 2026, demonstrating that a more secure Internet is possible. "There are solutions that exist, but we need to accelerate," concludes Alexandre Sossou.
