“One could also say that the Institute is a refuge for world reinventors. So, I welcome people who are taking their dreams seriously and turning them into strategies, or those who innovate, surpass, and build here and now the world they would like to live in,” explains Mathieu Baudin. The Institut des Futurs souhaitables is also a training center for the future, practicing foresight.
The future is not an exact science, because the moment we talk about it, we transform it. So how do we think about the future? Well, we cross disciplines, thanks to the participation of 150 experts from various fields, including oceans, space, agriculture, medicine, education, and politics, who paint a picture of the world and reflect on the desirable scenarios that await us to build them.
The audience attending the training primarily seeks to understand the world, taking a step aside. “These are people who deeply believe that there are more risks in not moving than in moving.” Thus, they have the freedom to commit to making their desirable futures a reality.
“We receive extremely powerful individuals who hold levers in their hands, great captains of industry, as well as those raising their children and wanting to activate this lever consciously. And once they understand that we are in a movement, perhaps even a new Renaissance, they try to find their place to participate in the adventure,” explains Mathieu Baudin.
2,200 people have already been trained at the Institut des Futurs souhaitables. “This community of positive conspirators, who act at Canal +, at the National Assembly, and in their lives, will spread their desirable futures and thus participate in the transformation of the World.”
It is also worth noting the creation of a popular university of desirables, free, open, and free of charge, which organizes about 70 events throughout the year. “We hold public utility controversies, conversations, reading walks, deep time marches, so feel free to come,” invites Mathieu Baudin. “What we do is rehabilitate the future, we try to tell anyone who wants to hear that tomorrow will profoundly be what you make of it.”
