The story of Timpers began in the locker room of a blind football club in Alicante. “My partners had created a shoe brand and brought some to the locker room one day to see if the players would buy them. They were surprised to see how we examined the shoes: by feeling them a lot, checking what materials they had, what textures”, says Diego Soliveres, who is also blind.
The curiosity of the scene paved the way for the idea of creating an inclusive shoe, appealing to blind individuals. What started as a prototype outside of a regular shoe company eventually became the launch of Timpers, which aims to break down all barriers regarding diversity in the labor and social sphere.
High-quality shoes, with a focus on distinct textures and color contrasts, where the brand name is also written in braille. Soliveres joined the project in 2018, which has now opened the door to including up to 30% of workers without disabilities, aiming to continue growing and standing out not only for the social mission of the company, which will continue as they are also a special employment center, but also for the quality of their product.
