Danielle has many strings to her bow as a woman and entrepreneur, even though she was not initially destined to be one. And her age (80 years) has not hindered the creation of the DAPAT association just 3 years ago! “Initially, DAPAT was created so that Patrick (her husband Patrick de Giovanni) and I could have a common project,” she explains with a smile.
DAPAT is a contraction of DAnielle and PATrick, but it also stands for “Give, Act, Share, Animate, and Transmit.”
The intention is to reach out to the associative world to provide support. With her background as an expert in women's entrepreneurship at the OECD and as a former president of various women's advocacy organizations, Danielle Rousseau de Giovanni felt compelled to act for homeless women with children: “... so that the associative world can move faster, do more, and do better what it knows how to do best.”
DAPAT assists various associations for 3 to 5 years by providing funding: “First, we get to know them, we advise them, we offer skills sponsorship, and above all, we have the financial means [...] up to 100,000 euros per year.” Danielle emphasizes her commitment to being present and active on the ground.
