Pilar Balet, a trained journalist, has been convinced for decades that communication for social transformation deserves its own specialization. In 2012, she returned to Zaragoza for personal reasons and took the opportunity to build an agency dedicated exclusively to impact projects.
The project started as a network of freelance colleagues under a shared brand and became a social enterprise in 2021 with a remote team spread across Spain and abroad.
Today, La Mar de Gente works with NGOs, companies, and citizen initiatives that have a clear mission but do not always know how to communicate it. Their main battle is to convince decision-makers that communication is not an unnecessary expense, but a tool as strategic as any other. “It is essential for organizations that are generating social transformation to capture that attention and tell their stories in a way that builds trust,” Balet explains in Impact Info.
