Kiron Digital is the subsidiary of the Kiron NGO, the first digital campus for people with refugee backgrounds. It started in 2015 when many people fled to Germany from various countries. To integrate them into society as quickly and effectively as possible, the Kiron NGO created a digital learning platform. After ten years of work, it became clear that many others could also benefit from individual digital learning areas, leading to the establishment of Kiron Digital.
Inclusion, justice, and sustainability are the pillars of the company strategy. Thanks to the diverse backgrounds and contributions of the users, the team at Kiron Digital has continuously tested and improved its first digital learning platform. It quickly becomes clear that not only individuals with refugee backgrounds can benefit from Kiron Digital's offerings.
Manuela Verduci notes that people, both with and without refugee backgrounds, need a greater sense of purpose again. For this, not only employees need to adapt and find compromises, but employers must also do so. Often, companies find it too difficult to create an inclusive and diverse work environment, as CEO Verduci knows. However, the commitment to this cause drives employee motivation and productivity upwards.
Manuela Verduci explains how such a program works using the example of hiring processes. Currently, the team at Kiron Digital is working on the Migration Manager Academy. There, HR professionals will learn how to successfully support the hiring process of international employees. This starts with the application process, continues through hiring, and includes assistance with the visa process. Ultimately, it involves what HR professionals can and must do to ensure that the newly hired person does not leave for another company.
