Neoarth emerged in response to a growing demand for sustainable ingredients that many producers could not scale due to biological limitations. Neoarth assists them by improving these strains in their laboratories and supporting their integration into industrial processes.
Microalgae are microorganisms capable of capturing CO₂ and producing proteins, lipids such as omega-3, or natural pigments using less land and water than traditional alternatives. For Neoarth, the impact is measured in concrete applications: ingredients for nutrition, cosmetics, or aquaculture that replace petrochemical options or those with a high environmental impact. “Our goal is to improve biology so that microalgae can truly compete with traditional alternatives, increasing productivity and reducing costs,” explains Boels.
With a presence in France and several European countries, and also looking to Spain for its biotechnology ecosystem, the company is betting on biotechnology and data analysis to accelerate the transition from laboratory to market.
