“Improving democracy securely” is the goal of Electis, an association founded in 2018. When we talk about democracy, we talk about voting. Thus, Gilles Mentré and his team created an ultra-secure online voting system that is accessible to everyone: “Having a voting platform that is easy to use, fully secure, anonymous, and completely verifiable will benefit all sectors of society.” he explains.
Electis can indeed be useful in businesses, but also in schools, associations, or federations: “This corresponds to a general trend towards the horizontalization of our societies.”
Electis ensures simple, secure, anonymous, and verifiable elections. “We want to build a digital democracy [...] we create a digital print that has the same reliability as a paper print, it’s even better because it cannot be hidden. Once it’s on the blockchain, it’s accessible to everyone.”
The ultimate goal according to Electis is to build a digital commons.
