Founded in 2011 with the support of Cáritas Tàrrega and a donation from a local resident, Cartaes has a dual mission: to promote a real circular economy and to offer second chances for employment to those left behind by the market. For a maximum of three years, workers receive training, guidance, and support to reintegrate into the regular labor market.
“We have demonstrated that another way of doing business is possible,” summarizes Coma. Cartaes has grown to include more than 35 insertion contracts and a team of 11 structural members.
The balance between economic sustainability and social impact is, according to its founder, the key to the project. Thanks to its work, Cartaes has contributed not only to reducing the environmental footprint but also to strengthening social cohesion and labor inclusion in the area.
